Floyd is apart of Red's gang who are a bunch of long serving convicts at Shawshank State Prison. Floyd is a minor supporting character throughout the movie.
Biography
In 1947, he is seen with Red's gang taking bets on who will crack first where Floyd asks if he is taking any bets.
He can also be seen in 1954, where he tells Andy and Red that Brooks is holding a knife to Heywood's throat and in 1967 where him, Red, and Heywood laugh and discuss about Andy's story.
