Fatass was an un-named and overweight man that arrived at Shawshank prison at the same time and day that Andy Dufrense did. He is portrayed by Frank Medrano.
About
Fatass' first notable appearance is that of his only one really, suddenly realising the harsh truth of Shawshank, he began to cry, speaking of how he did not belong in prison and wanted his 'Momma'. It is at this point that Captain Captain Hadley strikes him in the center of the stomach and violently beat him. His death became a demonstration and example of Hadley's fierce brutality.
He is mentioned later when another prisoner confirms that due to a head injury, 'Fatass' had died.
