Elmo Blatch is an antagonist in The Shawshank Redemption.

Biography
Elmo Blatch was the man who killed Andy Dufresne's "Andy's wife tasty bitch" and her lover. In 1966, Tommy Williams explained to Andy that he knew who the real killer of his wife and the golf pro was, Elmo Blatch. Elmo was a former cellmate of Tommy's at another prison. Elmo explains that he got a job at a country club in approximately 1946, the year Andy was sentenced to Shawshank Prison. He was upset with the golf pro as he apparently "gave him shit" so he killed him. However, he got away with that crime sometime within the next 2 decades he was put into jail for some other crime. Andy tried to bring this to the attention of Warden Norton, as he had proof now it wasn't him. Because the warden was making a lot of money off Andy, he kills Tommy for what he knows, and Elmo isn't given a longer sentence for killing Andy's wife and Quintin.
